From Rod and Louise Millman
WE would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who so kindly telephoned, faxed, wrote to us or emailed their congratulations following the wonderful, memorable day Sergeant Cecil gave us at Newmarket, completing such an historic treble.

We will be forever grateful to Cecil's owner, Terry Cooper, for sending this very special horse to our yard, enabling us to make our small piece of history!

We would also like to say how much we appreciate the effort and support throughout the season from our stable staff, owners, farrier, vet - in fact everyone connected with the yard for doing a such a great job. Thank you all.

Rod on Sergeant Cecil’s treble

When I was told that no-one has ever done it, I thought let's try it. It was wonderful just to have been able to have a crack and unbelievable to have actually achieved it."

Munro pays tribute to 'superstar' Cecil

ALAN MUNRO did not see Sergeant Cecil win the Cadran. But it was not a matter of being unable to bring himself to watch the race - he simply had no access to live pictures at home, writes Graham Dench.

Munro, who rode Sergeant Cecil to win the Northumberland Plate, Ebor and Cesarewitch last year, is stood down after suffering a convulsion, and he awaits the result of a medical review that will determine if he can ride again.

Speaking from home yesterday, he said: "I think it's brilliant that the horse has reached such a peak and won a Group 1, and I'm really pleased for everyone - the owners, Rod of course, and the horse himself. I'm pleased for Frankie too, and I'll give him a big hug when I see him."

Asked to identify what he had brought to the horse, he played down his part, saying: "I think I was fortunate to get on him at the right time. He started to progress and has never stopped. He's a superstar."
